I purchased this monitor in Jan and with in three months had to have a replacement sent to me. The screen went completely black. Have had the replacement about a month and the color is all distorted on it. This is a crappy monitor and the company itself is not good to deal with. After two bad monitor in less than 4 months I want a refund and the only thing they are willing to do is send me another crappy monitor. I will never purchase another HP product.

I'm very pleased with this monitor. Like all monitors of this type, the best image quality is produced in its native display resolution; I found this one wonderfully sharp at 1920x1080. I didn't even have to install any software or change any Windows settings when using this to replace a Dell monitor that had failed.
For people with special visual needs, or even those who simply like to fine tune the display to suit their taste, the clear and easy-to-use menus allow detailed adjustment of brightness, contrast, sharpness, tint and more. The factory settings were too bright for me, but it was easy to tone them down. So many LCD monitors display more dimly at the top than bottom, but this one does not suffer from that problem, and instead provides a highly uniform brightness and contrast.
The factory settings yielded a slightly red tinted image, but that also was easy to tweak via the menu's independent adjustments for Red, Green and Blue level. The front panel LEDs that show "power on" are of high intensity, but those too can be adjusted via the menus. I'm impressed with the image quality, and am very happy with this purchase.

The monitor has a stylish design and seems sturdy enough. The stand is non-adjustable by height though (at least I wasn't able to find a way to adjust it) and the buttons are somewhat hard to reach, especially in low-light situations - they are underneath the front panel. Someone here noted the sticker - I was annoyed by it too, because it left a sticky residue.
As for the picture, I'm totally satisfied with it - whether in movies, still pictures or 3D games. I'm not a design professional, but the colors seem natural enough for me even in one of the preset modes (i.e. it wasn't necessary to customize them when I got the monitor). The viewing angle is enough for any reasonable viewing positions. It's not marked on the front panel, but the "+" key switches between sources.
I've used it for 5 or 6 weeks now without any problems.
