I bought this hitch because of the great reviews. They were all correct, and more. In fact, the manufacturer seems to have read the reviews as well, as the instructions now say to loosen all but 2 of the bumper mounting bolts on each side (removing only the 2 bolts, rather than removing the bumper), as suggested by one reviewer. My hitch fit perfectly right out of the box, and in fact I was able to install it by myself, using a jack to hold up one end. The only thing I'd mention that I hadn't noticed previously has to do with torquing the bolts: You have to lower the spare tire to get the torque wrench in there; and I very nearly stopped short of the recommended 65 lb ft torque on the supplied 12 mm bolts because I thought the nuts would surely strip - but they didn't (not really problems, just not noted elsewhere).

Heavy-duty construction makes this a good choice and a solid value. The installation instructions were good. If I were to do the installation again, I'd try to have a second person with me to lend a hand as the unit is fairly heavy and positioning it can be awkward. I would have given five stars but the packaging (apparently from the factory)was absurd. They merely placed the unit in a cardboard box somewhat bigger than the unit and then glued the box ends. No packing material....none. The unit banged around in the box during shipment and arrived protruding through the box. I was surprised that UPS delivered it in that condition. Fortunately, it was not damaged.

I purchased this to install on my 2008 Toyota Tacoma. Installation was very direct, took about 3 hours from start to finish. I had a second person to hold the receiver in place while I put in the first few bolts as well as hold the bumper in place as I reattached it, apart from that, the project could be done alone. The directions were very clear and the receiver feels very secure. I've used it to tow a light (700 lb) trailer and it works great. I don't feel like I am towing anything.
