Someone once observed to me that printer manufacturers were sort of like drug dealers: They lure you in with the free or cheap product (the printer) and then they trap you and break you as you keep coming back for more (the ink). My photosmart premium works wonderfully. I just feel as though these ink cartridges are empty almost as soon as you put them in. I tried refurbished cartridges but they seem to screw up the printer. So, they have me hooked. Either I kick the printing habit or I continue to shoot this cyan, magenta and yellow substance down my drains.

These cartridges are absolutely not worth the money. I bought one and the ink ran out with under 20 pictures. They did send a replacement and that also ran out under 25 pictures and I'm talking about 4 by 6 pictures. I just went on HP site and they are selling the same for about the same price. I was told by HP that there should be a certain sign on theirs that shows they are really HP. I told this company that and the second one that they sent also didn't have it.Unless I am missing something I saw HP on the package.

There seems to be several misunderstandings about ink replacements.
1. OEM from the manufacturer
2. Remanufactured from a ink distributor

The inks are basically the same, where do you think the OEM company gets the ink? In order to charge more to cover overhead and profits the OEM companies develop things like chips to "read' the ink. When you buy a remanufactured ink product they will not have the chip and "CAN" read empty misleading people into thinking the cartridges are partially empty and they got a bad deal. In reality they just dont have the chip so the computer misreads the info. It is simple to go into the printer software and turn off the chip reading service and everything will work fine except the ink level readings. They arent really accurate anyway. If getting an inaccurate reading of how much ink you have left is that important to you then you will need to buy the expensive OEM ink for that feature. If you want the same ink just a lot cheaper, remanfactured is a much more economical choice. Be sure to check out the company selling the remanufactured cartridges as with all companies selling anything on the internet, some are good and some are bad. The OEM companies have strict guidelines and only buy from the good companies. You need to research and do the same if you decide to buy remanufactured. The cheapest option normally isnt the best, It's the chepest for a reason. There are several reputable companies here in the USA and regulations are more stringent. I would look for that 1st.

Also keep in mind all black inks from either are not the same, some are for Photo and some are for printing. An example is the HP Black XL 800 pages and the HP Black XL photo 290 pages. It is confusing if one dosn't read the box for the intended use. The photo cartridge actually has a greyish color and is for photo usage only and is not interchanable with the Black XL.

If you are in any way handy, several people find buying refill kits easy and the most economical way to significantly reduce printing cost.

Ink is ink for the most part. When it cost more to buy ink than it did to buy the printer you have to ask yourself how the OEM companies "really" make their profits. Especially, when they dont manufacture the cartridges or the ink they put their name on. They purchase BOTH from the companies that ARE selling them to you as remanufactured at a discount for obvious reasons. Are the OEM cartridges and ink really better just because they stuck a label with their name on it and charge us a 300% mark up for a chip?

You will have to decide, but be educated and know your options before you spend.

This case is very cleverly designed, featuring a magnetic closure at the top and the quick clip that allows you to attach it just about anywhere. The primary reason I would not rate this higher is that the Flip Video camcorder I purchase with the case, which was advertised with the case, does not fit properly in the Lowepro Case. The case is too short so when my Flip Video is inside, the case will not magnetically close shut, making the camcorder easily vulnerable to sliding right out. With that said, I am not very satusfied with this product.

I wanted this cover to fit the Flip camcorder. Unfortunately, it is just a bit too short. Also, it has a not very strong magnetic closure. It could work for a smaller item, but it certainly would not be safe for the Flip. One small shake and the camcorder was on the floor.

I took this case with my new Flip Ultra HD on a week-long roadtrip. It does the job of protecting the device, but has two flaws:

* The magnetic closure at the top doesn't meet up when the Flip is in the case, but holds it shut when you're trying to put the camera away. Not helpful.

* The carabiner attaches to the case by hooking through a small flap of neoprene. Yes, it's just hooked through the material of the case.

At the end of the trip the carabiner tore straight through the flap. Fortunately I was sitting down at the time, so the camera didn't take a tumble, but I'm disappointed that the case didn't last more than 7 days of mild use.

HTC Inspire 4G Barely There Case Review by Jon Welling

A couple of months ago I purchased my fun, new shiny toy, my inspire 4g from AT&T. I was happy and exhilarated. But with working at a service depot for one of the big four my over anal tendencies started to kick in. I must protect my brand new investment. But I highly dislike cases. I am a firm believer that a cell phone should be enjoyed as it was designed. It's a recognition to the art work that has been created by the manufacturer. They create these things with a stylish look. The days of the brick are gone. But again, I am overly anal. So choosing a case is very difficult. That's why I ultimately decided on the the Barely There case by Casemate.

I had experience with a Barely There case in the past with one of my many Iphones. Thus the reason I was drawn to it again. The name is deserving of the case. It's a sleek and sexy style that molds to the outside of the phone. The case fits so well that it almost becomes an extension of the phone itself complementing the design, not hindering it.

I personally went with glossy white. I'm not usually a fan of white portable electronics because of how easy dirt and scuffs are visible. But to my surprise the white contrasts the natural dark grey of the Inspire so well that it compliments it.

As for the construction, this isn't an Otter Box. If you are looking for a durable case that will hold up to some pretty rough treatment then I wouldn't recommend this case. But for the general quirks of life this will do just fine. The plastic is hard enough to withstand general wear and tear. It will scuff with time though.

Removing the case is simple enough. It forms very tightly to the phone but this doesn't hinder removal. The case will bend easily enough to remove from the phone but without worry of breaking the case, unlike many other products I have had to deal with.

I do have two issues though. The first is rather common. Over time pocket lint and dust will gather between the case and the phone. This is a normal occurrence with most cases though. I tend to remove the case about once a week just to wipe it down quickly. But again, I am overly anal. My other issue is a byproduct of the design itself. Because of how well the case molds to the phone the top and bottom is left unprotected. The phone is still prone to scratches and nicks from drops.

Overall I would easily recommend this case to others. It compliments the art of the design of the Inspire and Desire HD very well. And it's durable enough to hold up to life's little unfortunate circumstances.

These speaker mounts are made of very thin plastic. The plastic bends under the weight of my speakers. They can barely hold my speakers up. Positioning my speakers with the wall mounts is a joke. I wish i would have bought something higher quality because i don't trust these.

Ok for a light weight speaker bracket. I think these are rated at 15 or 20 pounds. I wouldn't push that. 5-10 pounds at most. They've been holding up rear speakers for a while now without having to make any adjustments, so maybe they're more durable than I think. The price is right too!

I was really looking forward to receiving this webcam based on the reviews here, and because of the specs. Also, I was lucky enough to grab it during a temporary price drop, making it a huge bargain. However, the image quality is so poor, it isn't worth even the relatively low price I paid.

The image on the PC it is hooked up to is grainy and fuzzy. The only way I could get the picture to look half way decent on its "home" PC was within one of the bazillion ArcSoft application the CD installs. The video on the other end of Skype calls is close to unwatchable. And, there is no way to adjust the resolution within the driver's webcam settings.

Who uses these useless applications anyway? It is a WEB cam. Its main purpose is for video communications across the WEB. So, the only software necessary is the driver software. AND, that driver software needs to be able to utilize the full resolution and capability of the webcam.

Unfortunately, this piece o crap is going back to Amazon. I'll just have to get another Creative Optia or perhaps try a Logitech 9000 which seems to get great reviews. (Then again, this one got some good ones, too.)

This camera is really worth for its price. I have purchased several other brands prior to this, but none of them gave a picture quality of this good. In fact, it performs as well as my Sony VAIO built-in Web cam. It can handle low light conditions fairly well. I really like the fact that it has just one USB wire for both video and sound (makes your life easy with less wires). It has two mounting brackets to suit your desktop or laptop.

I am using it with Windows7, Windows Vista Home Premium, and Ubuntu 9.04. It works equally well in all these OSs. No installation needed with Ubuntu 9.04. So if you are looking for a good cam to use with Skype, this is one choice you can go with.

The bottom line is, it's a really good camera for a price less than $50.

The camera worked just fine with the Skype software. I would say my computer is kind of outdated, like an HP 512MB of RAM, and 1.4GHz in a Celeron M processor.

I thought about buying a Logitec camera first but decided to risk it and give this camera a try, so to keep only on computer hardware manufacturer.

I am glad I did, and I do not regret buying it. The image is very clear, and the cool autofocus function works great.

The case does have a nice feel to it, but overall I was disappointed because it was a little too loose on my iPad and the volume and on/off buttons are covered by buttons that have been made into the case. They don't fit the buttons on my iPad tightly enough to push on them and actually cause enough pressure to activate the actual button.

I don't know if my iPad is a little smaller than it's supposed to be for this cover (it's a 16G, but other than that, I just know it's a regular iPad... I didn't research and buy it myself, I won it at an event, so I don't know much about the specifics).

It's okay; the iPad doesn't immediately fall out if I flip it upside down, but it's looser than I like and I don't want to test it too much. Anyway, it will keep the back of my iPad from getting scratched and if I do drop it (on it's back, anyway) the impact protection should be useful.

I have a matte-black Incipio silicone case on my iPhone 3GS that I purchased at AT&T when I got the phone. The case makes the iPhone look great and I have had no problems with it. My only complaint would be that it is difficult to use the mute button with the case on. This is probably as much a button design issue as the design of the case. When I got my iPad, I decided to get an Incipio case for it as well. I really didn't see a leather case I liked and the flap on most of them is annoying to me. After reviewing the different Incipio models, I noticed that other users complained that the sides of the silicone cases seemed loose and rolled off during use. So, I decided to try the NGP model because reviewers said the polymar material was harder than the silicone and the edges did not roll. They were right. The case fits like a glove and is rock solid. My only complaint is that it is again difficult to use the mute button. I purchased the matte-gunmetal case because there seems to be a 30% price premium for the matte-black NGP case. The gunmetal gray case looks quite attractive on the iPad. It was only slightly harder to get on than my iPhone case and took only a few seconds. The feel of the NGP case is the same as my silicone case; it feels a little slippery but is not. I already had a screen protector on the iPad so I did not use the one included with the case.

The case fits real well, looks good and adds virtually no additional bulk. Also does not have that dust-attracting surface to it that silicone rubber cases have, and does not lose its shape. I have the same case for my iPhone 4 as well (obviously the iphone 4 version!) and I couldn't be happier with it, that is why I purchased this item. Sure, there are other cases out there that will protect the iPad better if it is dropped, but usually at the price of adding some serious bulk.

One note: this case did come with a screen protector. I did not use it. Not because it was bad. I never use the screen protectors, anyway. I don't like anything over the glass screen.

The product has a nice weight and is obviously solid brass. I would say it's a good value for the price, and would look nice on a desk or as a decorative piece. There are no instructions for its use included, so if you wanted to use it for more than decoration you'd have to do your own research. The compass needle moves freely, but has quite a bit of wobble. Probably not a practical instrument, but a nice decorative one. I was planning to use it as decor, so I am very satisfied.

I am absolutely delighted with this miniature sun dial. I checked the lattitude of Denver CO, took the sun dial out to the patio, raised the dial, oriented the compass, and the sun dial was accurate to within 15 minutes. A wonderful conversation piece. It did not come with instructions, but common sense provided the information required to use it.

The device isn't really a compass, though it has one, functional though not designed for real use (this item is unashamedly a desk toy). What it is (or would be if it were real) is a timepiece. You use the compass to orient the thing, swing up the gnomon (the triangular bit that throws the shadow on the sundial) and tilt the dial to match your current latitude which you read off the short curved scale shown on the picture in order to get the right time.

At least, I think that's what you do - there are no documents, instructions or descriptive matter included with it. I figured it out by thinking about it.

It's a nifty thing to look at, but isn't manufactured to the kind of standard that would make it truly functional. The latitude index isn't aligned with the dial hinge so it can't give an accurate setting, there are no indexing marks on the compass bezel to align the axis of the gnomon and though theoretically a device like this could be used as a compass by swinging the dial vertical and sighting using the gnomon base as the sight to get a bearing, it is too thick and probably isn't aligned with the compass pivot, and there's no marking on the case to align your eye with.

Indeed, mine wasn't manufactured well enough to withstand display on a desk since one of the screw-adjustable legs had been made smaller than the matching fitting in the unit itself.

I could probably have gotten an exchange but I'm going to be using this as part of a bigger steampunk prop, so I crazyglued the bad leg and saved myself the hassle.

So if you want a desk toy and can live with the chance you may have to return it, you'll get what you expect for a reasonable price. If you want a functional desk miniature, you need to look elsewhere and be prepared to spend a *lot* more money.
